MATTEO BASILÉ
Matteo Basilé lives and works between Rome and South Eastern Asia, specifically in Bali. Among his most recent works is the project Thishumanity, presented at Galleria Pack, in Milan (2010). In 2009, through his Thisoriented works, Matteo was presented at the 53rd Edition of Venice Biennale (2009) within the Italian Pavilion, and later at the BIASA ArtSpace gallery in Bali. Thisoriented represents the “Semionaute journey”, a route through matrix and signs of a space “other”, where the artist re elaborates the DNA of traditional subjects and images, enacting a photographic diary. Basilé has participated in numerous exhibitions and biennale in Italy and abroad and was the recipient of the prestigious New York Price at the Columbia University in 2002.
